Nicole’s Favorite Things!

by | Dec 7, 2022 | Healthy Bites

Greetings for this treasured month of December! As I write this, the snow is coming down and we are heading into the holiday season, which is the perfect time to talk about some of my “favorite things”. Below you’ll find a link that provides you with 6 pages of my most frequently recommended products. Why do I recommend these and what would qualify?

While there are no good/bad foods, I do like to suggest things that really add nutrition into our busy lives. And these products do just that. The traits I look for with my choices are function, nutrition, taste and enjoyment!

Personally, I do not eat things I do not like and I certainly do not ask my clients to do the same. If I make a suggestion in session, and they say “I’ll do it, but I just don’t like it”, I will immediately suggest something else. One of the purposes with food, is pleasure. This CANNOT be discredited when making choice. If we do ignore this, this suppression will come back with a vengeance, usually in the form of some sort of rebellious binge on something that feels much more exciting! It’s important that we make purposeful choice. And that is one of the main foundations of our (co-author Annie Weiss,MS,RD) book, Fueling on Purpose: Shifting Perspectives Around Nutrition, Movement, and Health. Taste, pleasure and enjoyment, can be just as important as nutrition and function. This is all part of creating balance with your daily diet! With that being said, please take a peek at the list I have created. Enjoy! This was generated with much love and appreciation and care for all of my clients!
